Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, and we have answers. See the most popular questions and answers here.

General

  1. What makes your photobooks, calendars, cards, and posters so special?

Our free software offers unheard of levels of customization. Also, because our books are printed on the Xerox iGen4, you can expect the highest quality print, as well as quick turn-around times.

  2. How expensive are your products?

They aren't! Take a look at our prices page.

  3. What kind of paper do you print on (cover and inside pages)?

Inside pages are printed on high quality 100# silk text.

Softcover cover pages are printed on 100# cover.

Hardcover cover pages are printed on 80# laminated text with 1.5mil laminate. We are currently experimenting with leather and textured covers, so check back soon for details!

  4. How long will it take to get my order?

Normal production time is 3 to 5 business days plus shipping time. During the holiday seasons, please allow for longer processing time.

  5. Are there any limitations to the type of images I can use?

We reserve the right to refuse any products that promote racism, hatred, bigotry, or harm against any person or group of people. We also will not print pornographic materials, child porn, or lewd and unnatural sexual content. Basically, anything that is harmful, obscene, or vulgar. Please use your best discretion.

  6. Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. At the current time, we only ship to US addresses.

  7. Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Yes. Each order is associated with its own shipping address, so to accomplish this you simply have to make multiple orders of the same product and give each order its own shipping address.

Software

  1. What can be customized on my photobooks, calendars, cards, or posters?

A lot! Our software allows you to place custom images in custom layouts, including rotation, collage, page spans, and more. You can also do backgrounds, faded backgrounds, custom text, and custom borders. You're only limited by your imagination.

  2. Can I add text in any language? What about fonts?

Yes, you may use any language or font currently available on your system.

  3. How can I make my photobook, calendar, card, or poster look its best?

Images are best printed at 300 dpi (dots per inch). For example, a 4 x 6 inch printed image should have resolution of 1200 pixels high by 1800 pixels wide (portrait orientation). The software will warn you if your image is too low resolution.

Keep in mind that a picture shot at a lower than optimum resolution and afterwards 'blown up' will be pixelated and low quality. Please shoot the pictures at 300 dpi or better.

  4. Do I need to resize the image if it is over 300 dpi?

No. The software will take care of downsizing images over 300 dpi.

  5. How can I start my calendar on a different month?

Open your previously saved calendar. Go to the file menu and choose save as. Select a different name for your calendar and save it. Then go to the personalize menu and choose "Calendar and Holidays" Change the start year and month.

  6. How do I upgrade my software?

There is a shortcut in your start menu that says "Check for updates." It will update your software to the newest version automatically.

  7. How do I make the image fill the page without leaving a white border on the preview?

When you drag a photo onto a page, choose "single page background" or "two-page spread background." This works for both the book and card software and is the only way to be sure the photo completely fills the page.

Support

  1. My photobook isn't uploading! ("network" or "connection" error)

A network or connection error in the software can me a couple of different things. Try these solutions in order:

    • Make sure your internet connection is on and working. Navigate to several web pages in your browser, preferrably some that you do not visit regularly.
    • Make sure you have no hardware or personal firewall running. A personal firewall could be Windows Firewall (build into Windows XP, Vista, and 7), Norton Security, Zone Alarm, or another solution. A hardware firewall would be a firewall build into your router.
    • Click for instructions to temporarily disable Windows Firewall. For other firewall solutions, please consult the appropriate help or documentation.
  2. Can I submit my work to you without using the software?

We're sorry, but at this time we do not accept any sort of submission except through the software. If you are having uploading difficulties, please look at the previous question regarding turning off personal firewalls.

Temporarily disable Windows Firewall

  1. Click Start and then hit Control Panel.
  2. Find Windows Firewall and double click it.
  3. Turn the firewall off and hit okay.
  4. Now try uploading your file.
  5. Be sure to turn the firewall on after your file has uploaded.
